Welcome to The Andover Nursing Home

There are almost 10,000 nursing homes in England and fewer than 50 have proved they have what it takes to receive an overall Outstanding rating. We are extremely proud to be one of them.

The Care Quality Commission found The Andover Nursing Home to be exceptionally effective, caring and well led when they made an announced inspection in January 2017, under new ownership we will of course be re-inspected. Their report highlighted how people who live here feel that they are treated with kindness and how their needs are ‘consistently met by staff who have the right competencies, knowledge, attitudes and behaviour’.

The feedback inspectors received from residents, staff and relatives was positive throughout. We hope you will take time to read the report in full - please ask for a copy at reception or visit www.cqc.org.uk

Our commitment to highly personalised care which reflects residents’ wishes from the day they arrive right through until the end of life is also recognised by a National Gold Standards Framework Quality Hallmark Award. This accolade reflects The Andover Nursing Home’s commitment to best practice training in palliative and end of life care and provides evidence that we have all the necessary skills and resources in place to ensure residents’ personal wishes are carried out.

Fundraising initiatives by The Friends of The Andover Nursing Home further enhance residents’ social lives both in and outside the home by supporting the work of the activity organisers. Money raised through fetes, fayres, jumble sales, dinner nights and sponsored events ensures that high calibre entertainment is a regular feature of our activities programme. The additional funds also help support transport and other costs associated with memorable days out. Membership is free and open to residents, their family members and friends.
